Lots of things going on. A couple of steps backwards again.

The biggest reason (again) is the Bendtsen's kit to install the 700R4 behind the original 1957 Nailhead.

Since it will be down for a while we will complete maintenance and additional upgrades.
(details in the slide shows below).

First the Bendtsen's kit that has led to multiple costly and time robbing problems.

I know for a fact that I'm not the only one having experienced these issues. Be prepared to deal with these issues.

Note that he's no longer advertizing the 57 kit. It still says in the 56 kit information that it will fit a 57.

  1. The kit does not have a way to install the most crucial left lower tranny mounting bolt. Nor an alternative way to deal with the stress. GM put a bolt there for a reason.
  2. The kit plates were cut wrong and interfered with the flex plate (almost 1/2" off over a 5" stretch)
  3. The kit is not balanced and when started we experienced a vibration leading to this costly teardown and need to send it to a machine shop for blu printing and balancing so the engine and trans would not get damaged.
  4. If installed correctly the kit requires you to cut the firewall and tunnel for clearance and access to the top four bolts.
  5. The kit interferes and will lock up the throttle/kickdown linkages likely leading to accidents if not removed and changed to new pedal and cable.
  6. The tranny hangs down below the frame leading to a need for a skid plate. Especially on a lowered car.
  7. The flex plate in the kit was not straight.
  8. The general support that you get when calling for help on many of these issues is not in line with the cost of this part, nor with other companies of this nature. No offer of resolution/ replacing bad parts, paying for the extra labor etc.. just "you can just grind it" or "it will fit just fine" or "It does not need that bolt" "you'll have to figure that out" etc...
